19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
He fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a close third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
